Green Turtle Cay

Green Turtle Cay is located just over an hour from Florida, yet it will feel like a world away!

With a Sea Side Cart, you'll have total freedom to explore our laid-back island, with the picturesque village of New Plymouth in the south, and our beautiful bays, secluded beaches, and fine dining in the north. Our island is approximately three miles long by a mile across, surrounded by calm waters, miles of pristine, mostly deserted beaches, and the friendliest people you will find anywhere. Here crime, traffic jams, car alarms, and casinos are non-existent.

Start your tour in New Plymouth, our main settlement. Originally settled in 1783, New Plymouth has a deep sense of history and tradition. Its homes, reminiscent of a small New England fishing village, are brightly painted in pastel colors, giving them a truly Bahamian touch.

You can visit gift shops, an art gallery featuring works by local artists, the Albert Lowe Museum (which traces the history of Green Turtle), and a Sculpture Garden with bronze busts of famous Bahamians that have figured prominently in our history. Here you can choose to dine at one of our local restaurants, take-aways, or a friendly sea side bar.

Working your way north, you will find dozens of sand roads leading you to secluded beaches, perfect for long walks, sunbathing, or for a private picnic lunch. If you happen to spot another couple, it will be a crowded day. On the ocean side of our island, the Great Bahamian Reef, the world's second largest, is an easy swim right from shore.

Venturing further north, you will come to The Green Turtle Club & Marina, and at the end of the road, The Bluff House Resort & Marina overlooking New Plymouth. If you are looking for a nice dinner, maybe to celebrate a special occasion, or an excuse to wear a shirt with buttons and still fit in, these would be your best choices.Sid's Grocery

Offshore, the fishing is also incredible year-round. Grouper, mahi mahi, tuna, and bonefish are just a few of the catches in our waters. There are several local fishing guides available for deep-sea and bonefishing tours.

If there's anything we can do to make you trip more memorable, just let us know.

Enjoy!
